Shari has always had a passion for travel and adventure. She has been lucky enough to combine her passion with business. She grew up in a small town far from the ocean. She always dreamed of seeing the world and being on the water. As a senior in high school, she came across an article about someone who took a year off after school. They crewed on a sailboat traveling around the world. “I still remember that day like it was yesterday, that was going to be my life. I wanted to see the world and have amazing adventures”. That was the day everything seemed possible. At the age of 17, she moved from New Jersey to California with no money and a lot of dreams.

 

Once in California she began working on the water. Getting scuba certified and learning about boats, she started working on boats out of Long Beach Ca. Shari went on to build one of the largest and only female owned yacht management companies in Southern California. World travel came quickly after moving up in her scuba certification. She moved to Oahu where she worked as a dive guide.  She also traveled around Mexico, the Caribbean, and the lesser Antilles. Upon moving back to California she continued to expand in business combining her love for the water and boats to a profitable business. After over three decades of world travel and working hard at building a successful business, she moved to Hawaii with dreams of starting a business in the diving/ snorkeling industry. 

 

Shari is a 100 ton licensed captain and PADI instructor/ dive master. She has partnered with Ryan Leinbach for Kona Coast Expeditions. “I’ve always wanted to be true to myself and work in an industry that I am passionate about. The incredible marine environment Kona Hawaii has to offer is some of the most diverse I’ve ever seen. I love showing people an ocean environment that is so amazing, you never know what you’re going to encounter. It’s the only way on this planet you can literally visit another world."
